Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com November 29 news, TrendForce Jibang Consulting released a report today that global VR equipment shipments in 2022 were about 8.58 million units, a decrease of 5.3% compared with the same period last year. It is mainly due to the impact of high inflation on the consumption power of the end market, the delay or failure of brand manufacturers to launch new products, and the adjustment of Meta pricing strategy.
According to the report, thanks to the introduction of Sony PS VR2, Meta Quest 3 and other new products, VR device shipments are expected to rebound to 10.35 million units in 2023, an increase of 20.6% over the same period last year.
CTOnews.com learned that TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that Quest Pro is expected to ship only 250000 units at most this year, and Meta's VR device shipments will not return to significant growth until 2023 after the launch of Quest 3, with estimated shipments of about 7.25 million units in 2023.
Sony, for its part, expects to ship about 1.6 million PS VR2 units in 2023, making it one of the main players in the VR device market.
