On November 29, the Amazon Cloud Technology 2022 re:Invent Global Conference opened today, at which BlackBerry announced that it would further take advantage of Amazon Cloud Technology to provide BlackBerry QNX technology to mission-critical embedded operating system developers through cloud services for the first time, thus significantly reducing the time to market of its products.

At the Amazon Cloud Technology 2022 re:Invent Global Conference, BlackBerry QNX demonstrated its real-time operating system (RTOS) and artificial intelligence data platform BlackBerry BlackBerry IVY, which runs on Amazon EC2 instances powered by Amazon Cloud Technology Amazon Graviton2 processors. BlackBerry QNX RTOS, which runs in the cloud as a workbench for cloud native developers, can be used independently or in conjunction with BlackBerry IVY, the cloud-based Zhaopin AI platform jointly developed by BlackBerry and Amazon Cloud Technology.

According to reports, in the automotive industry, each car contains more than 100 million lines of code on average, and consumers and global regulators have been asking for enhanced features and functions. As a result, the complexity of the entire in-vehicle electronic architecture continues to grow. The main engine factory (OEMs) is facing great pressure to prototype, test and verify the whole vehicle software ecosystem while meeting the functional security standard (ISO 26262) and the network security standard (ISO 21434). Automakers using Amazon Cloud's native cloud BlackBerry QNX RTOS real-time operating system to deliver future-oriented software-defined cars will streamline development efforts to address some of these challenges and reduce "developer friction".

As one of the first applications, some customer developers will be able to make full use of BlackBerry IVY cloud instances. At Amazon Cloud Technologies 2022 re:Invent Global Conference, BlackBerry will show how developers can use the cloud service to simplify the development, testing and integration of AI-driven automotive solutions and deploy these solutions to on-board hardware for on-board operation.

It is reported that the early access version of the cloud operating system project has been provided to specific mainframe factories and first-tier suppliers, including first-tier car supplier Marelli, which is currently piloting the solution for the development of next-generation automotive technology.
