According to the latest report from the Electronic Times, the overall capacity utilization of TSMC wafer plants is expected to drop to 80% in the first half of next year, of which the capacity utilization of 7nm and 6nm processes will decline sharply, and that of 5nm and 4nm processes is expected to decline month by month from January next year.

If TSMC's overall capacity utilisation declines in the first half of next year, as reported, especially in processes such as 7nm, 6nm, 5nm and 4nm, which account for half of their revenue, it will lead to a significant drop in revenue.

In addition, because TSMC is currently the largest foundry in the world, its market share is much higher than that of other manufacturers, and its customer base is large, if their capacity utilization decreases, the high probability means that the capacity utilization of other manufacturers will not be optimistic.
