CTOnews.com, November 29 (Xinhua)-- Reuters quoted sources as saying that Microsoft may provide remedies to the European Union in the coming weeks to prevent the EU from formally opposing the company's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but the report did not give details of Microsoft's proposal.

CTOnews.com has reported that Microsoft has offered Sony a 10-year "call of Duty" license agreement to ensure that the game will remain on the PlayStation platform, which is more sincere than the previous three-year contract.

Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard is currently under regulatory review, including investigations by the Federal Trade Commission, the CMA and the European Commission. Several regulators have recently approved the deal, such as Serbia, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

The European Commission is currently scheduled to make a final decision in early April 2023, but may make a decision earlier if it accepts Microsoft's "remedial measures".

In fact, a recent report suggested that FTC might consider filing a lawsuit to block the acquisition. In response, a Microsoft spokesman said: "as we have said before, we are prepared to address the concerns of regulators, including the FTC and Sony, to ensure that the deal is completed with confidence. After the deal is completed, we will still lag behind Sony and Tencent in the market, while the partnership between Activision and Xbox will benefit players and developers and make the industry more competitive."
