Judging from the trademark application, Samsung appears to be developing a new mobile app called "self-service assistant". According to the trademark application, the app's icon has a blue background with stylized gears and wrenches.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung launched a self-service maintenance program in the United States this summer. The purpose of the program is to give Galaxy device users in the United States access to mobile phone parts and tools for self-service maintenance. Samsung launched the program in partnership with iFixit, which provides instructions on the components, tools and disassembly and repair.

The trademark document describes the "self-service assistant" as "computer applications for mobile phones for self-installation and self-maintenance of smartwatches, tablets, mobile phones and headphones". The application should be able to provide "consulting and information services related to self-installation and self-maintenance" for various types of mobile devices.

In other words, Samsung may be developing a mobile app to give self-study users more information about how they should manage and maintain their Samsung mobile devices. So, instead of using the iFixit website, Samsung may provide guides and other useful information through a dedicated mobile app, a self-study assistant.

Samsung's self-study program currently covers only a small number of devices, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Tab S7 devices. Maybe a dedicated self-study assistant app will allow Samsung to expand the list of devices. Of course, the emergence of trademark applications does not guarantee that the application will be released.
