The new version has a new status icon on the system tray, provides a new taskbar search style, and continues to provide bug fixes.

Changes and improvements: task bar and system tray

When connecting to a recognized virtual private network profile, we added a glimpse of the virtual private network status to the system tray. The virtual private network icon, a small shield, will be superimposed on the active network connection with your system's key color.

Search on the taskbar

In this version, we will continue to try different ways to search on the taskbar. We are glad to learn this from your feedback, so if you see different ways of dealing with it on your computer, please let us know what you think through the feedback center. Insiders who get this experience will be able to change the way searches are handled on the taskbar under Settings > personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar project.

The following is a bug fix: [taskbar and system tray]

Fixed an issue where explorer.exe crashed when using Alt+F4 and opening the show hidden icon in the system tray.

Fixed multiple explorer.exe crashes that affected system tray performance.

Updated the tooltip for the battery icon to let you know if your device is charging slowly.

A small improvement has been made for tablet-optimized taskbar users to make it easier to expand the taskbar without calling the start menu.

Fixed an issue that could cause taskbar jump lists and preview thumbnails to not appear in the correct location for insiders using 2-in-1 computers.

We fixed a problem that caused the folder in the start menu to fail to open on the first attempt.

Fixed an issue that caused some Insiders to see an error SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION bug check after upgrading to the previous version.

Fixed an issue that caused some applications, including media players, to crash while playing media in the background on recent flights.

Fixed an issue that may cause your computer to go to sleep, even though it is configured not to sleep.

Fixed an issue where network-to-local replication (for example, copying files from a network share) was slower than some users expected.

Note: some of the fixes in the Insider Preview build from the development channel mentioned here may be included in service updates for the Windows 11 release.

Finally, there is a known problem: [general question]

[new] in some cases, for a small number of Windows Insiders, the Widgets may be missing, causing the explorer.exe to crash after upgrading to this version. If it is lost, you can install it here. We recommend that you finish the work before upgrading. If you are affected by the upgrade, please follow these steps to roll back the version.

[new] there is a problem in Build 25247 + that prevents some insiders from viewing some secondary drives-which may also affect other PCI devices. The device is displayed as an error in device Manager. We are working on a fix, and once you upgrade to a fixed version, it should work again.

We are investigating reports that some insiders stopped working after upgrading to the latest flight.

We are investigating reports of crashes of some different applications and games in recent versions.

We are working to fix a problem that causes the various UI elements in the application to sometimes disappear and reappear in recent builds.

When using the tablet-optimized taskbar, the taskbar is sometimes cut in half.

We are investigating a problem where the Task Manager does not display light and dark content correctly, resulting in the inability to read the text. This happens when you set the mode in Settings > Personalization > Color to Custom-as a temporary workaround, switch it to Light or Dark.

The launch application page in the Task Manager does not list any applications for some internal people. If you are affected, please temporarily use Settings > applications > Startup.

In a right-to-left display language, such as Arabic, when you click to the expanded view of the gadget, the content is animated before the widget is resized.
