November 28 news, according to foreign media reports, Volkswagen will launch an all-electric ID.AERO sedan in the global market.

It is reported that the ID.AERO sedan, built on the MEB (modular electric drive) platform, will be equipped with 77kWh lithium-ion batteries with a range of 620km (385mph) in the case of WLTP. Production of the car is expected to start in Emden, one of Germany's main ports, next year.

Ralf Brandst ä tter, chief executive of Volkswagen passenger cars, said the car would be the company's next global model for Europe, China and the United States after the ID.4.

Earlier, foreign media said that ID. AERO will mark an important milestone in Volkswagen's electric vehicle strategy, as it may become a strong competitor for hot electric cars such as Tesla Model 3 and even Model S.

It is reported that Volkswagen is making every effort to develop electric vehicles. The company plans to build the largest fleet of electric vehicles in the industry, with the goal of replacing Tesla as the leader of the electric vehicle industry by 2025.

As Volkswagen's electric vehicle delivery continues to grow, some analysts predict that the company will overtake market leader Tesla in sales as early as 2024.

At present, Volkswagen is selling four different ID brands of electric vehicles, namely, ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.6. The company's electric car orders remain high, at 135000 as of mid-November, up 65 per cent from 2021.

In the first half of 2022, Volkswagen delivered 217000 pure electric vehicles, up 27% from 170900 in the same period last year. Among them, 92800 ID models were delivered.

Volkswagen said it aims to sell 70 per cent of its vehicles in Europe by 2030, compared with 50 per cent in the US and China.
