According to reports, the total length of the tunnel is 3.33 km, connecting Dongfang Avenue-Xinghu Road in Wuzhong District in the west and Chuangyuan Road in the Industrial Park in the east. It is a key construction project in Jiangsu Province.

The main line of the tunnel constructed by the 20th Bureau of China Railway is 1.1 kilometers long and runs through the Sushen Outer Port Navigation Canal and the city's main road. Its buried depth is 7 meters, the maximum buried depth on land is 26.7 meters, the span of foundation pit is 35 meters, and it is only about 10 meters away from nearby high-rise buildings. it is an important and difficult control project with the deepest buried depth, the highest technical content, the most difficult technology and the greatest safety risk.

CTOnews.com learned that after the opening of the tunnel, it will further enhance the road network structure in the southeast of the city, effectively alleviate the traffic pressure on Dushu Lake Tunnel and Oriental Avenue, shorten the distance between Wuzhong District of Suzhou and the Industrial Park from 30 minutes to 5 minutes, and significantly promote the economic and cultural interaction between the Science and Education Innovation Zone of Suzhou Industrial Park and the Economic Development Zone of Wuzhong District. It plays an important role in accelerating the realization of the integration of Suzhou.
