According to CTOnews.com news on November 28, Xintong Hospital today released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in September 2022. The report shows that in September 2022, 20.922 million mobile phones were shipped in the domestic market, down 2.4% from the same period last year, of which 15.104 million were 5G mobile phones, down 0.1% from the same period last year, accounting for 72.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

CTOnews.com learned that from January to September 2022, total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market totaled 196 million, down 21.1% from the same period last year, of which 5G mobile phone shipments were 153 million, down 16.4% from the same period last year, accounting for 78.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In September 2022, 34 new mobile phones were launched in China, down 41.4 percent from the same period last year, including 15 5G mobile phones, down 37.5 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 44.1 percent of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period. From January to September 2022, a total of 305 new models were on the market, down 13.8 percent from the same period last year, of which 156 5G phones were down 9.3 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 51.1 percent of the number of new models on the market in the same period.

Domestic mobile phone market domestic and foreign brand composition in September 2022, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 18.327 million, down 9.6% from the same period last year, accounting for 87.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. 30 new models on the market, down 44.4% from the same period last year, accounting for 88.2% of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period.

From January to September 2022, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 170 million units, down 24.4% from the same period last year, accounting for 86.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. A total of 278 new models were on the market, down 13.1% from the same period last year, accounting for 91.1% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.

The development of domestic smartphones in September 2022, 19.844 million smartphones were shipped, down 4.6 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 94.8 percent of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to September 2022, smartphone shipments were 191 million units, down 21.3% from the same period last year, accounting for 97.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In September 2022, 28 new models of smartphones were launched, down 47.2% from the same period last year, accounting for 82.4% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. A total of 257 new models of smartphones were launched from January to September 2022, down 14.3% from the same period last year, accounting for 84.3% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.
