The expert group believes that the Wudongde Hydropower Station hub project is in line with the state-approved construction scale, the project quality is excellent, the operation of major buildings, mechanical and electrical, and metal structural equipment is safe, and the project achieves the designed goals of power generation, flood control, and shipping. The hub project has normal operating conditions.

The completion safety appraisal is not only the prerequisite for the special acceptance of the hub project, but also an important measure to ensure the safe and stable operation of the project.

Wudongde Hydropower Station is a major national project of "power transmission from west to east". It was fully started on December 24, 2015, and all units were put into operation in June 2021. At present, the Wudongde Hydropower Station continues to operate safely and stably, giving full play to all comprehensive benefits, the completion safety appraisal and quality supervision of the hub project have been completed, and all the conditions for special acceptance of the hub project have been met.

In the next step, the Ministry of Construction of the Wudongde Project of the three Gorges Project will actively organize all parties involved in the construction to complete the completion of the project with high standards and high quality, so as to realize the successful conclusion of the Wudongde project at an early date.

CTOnews.com learned that Wudongde Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Jinsha River at the junction of Luquan County, Yunnan Province and Huidong County, Sichuan Province, with a total installed capacity of 10.2 million kilowatts. After full production, the average annual generating capacity will reach 38.91 billion kilowatt hours, saving 12.2 million tons of standard coal each year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 30.5 million tons. It is the fourth giant hydropower station in China and the seventh in the world that has stepped into the ranks of 10 million kilowatts.
