In the first phase of recruitment, Microsoft Lab and Sony jointly selected three companies, Hanshuo Technology, Changguan Technology and Wyatt Technology from many application programs, and successfully promoted the landing of PoC (proof of concept).

In the second phase of the project, as long as the participating companies have application scenarios for the integration of visual sensors and cloud services, and have independent or outsourced technology development teams, regardless of company size and industry restrictions, they can join the PEP program.

CTOnews.com learned that in November 2021, Microsoft and Sony Semiconductor Technologies announced the launch of a partner support Program (Partner Enablement Program) to encourage qualified local independent software vendors (ISV) and system integrator (SI) partners to innovate based on commercial AI camera solutions (AI camera-driven solutions). The solution combines Sony IMX500 Smart Vision Sensor, the world's first image sensor with AI processing capabilities, with the AI capabilities of Microsoft Smart Cloud to achieve edge artificial intelligence processing. Prior to this, Microsoft and Sony launched the Joint Innovation Lab (Co-Innovation Labs) in China to provide partners and enterprise customers in computer vision and video analysis with the support and services needed to build, develop, prototype and test solutions.
