CTOnews.com, November 28, according to China Economic Network, Shenzhen Star shift Lianxin Technology Development Co., Ltd. recently announced that it will work with Weiwei Communication Technology, a manufacturer of communication terminal simulators, to complete China's first 5G spaceborne broadband communication link.

Public information shows that this is the first satellite Internet 5G link in China that meets the technical standard of 3GPP (International Organization for Standardization) 5G NTN. This technology makes it possible for ordinary smartphones to access the Internet through low-orbit satellite constellations.

CTOnews.com learned that according to the person in charge of Star shift, the test used the space-grade 5G NTN on-board digital processor independently developed by Star shift, which is based on the domestic ARM architecture, and the latest E500 test terminal of Weiwei. The test results show that the terminal can successfully complete the system access and achieve (or close to) the theoretical peak rate of uplink and downlink. This is the first technical verification of satellite Internet in China based on domestic ARM architecture. After the success of this test, the company plans to complete the on-orbit verification of the relevant technology next year.
