Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com November 28 news, ride-hailing drivers are still in Shanghai in the morning to pick up orders, in the afternoon quickly received orders from Beijing, such an incredible cross-provincial orders is how to operate? Recently, the Shanghai Qingpu Court heard a case in which virtual location software was used to modify location information to defraud subsidies and coupons from the online ride-hailing platform, according to the Shanghai Qingpu Court.

CTOnews.com learned that in August 2021, when a ride-hailing company conducted internal data monitoring, several drivers in the platform found that the actual IP address did not match the order route, the face recognition result was inconsistent with the registration identity information, and orders were received across provinces in a short period of time. For example, one Shanghai order was completed in the morning and another Beijing order was completed in the afternoon of the same day. After a preliminary investigation and judgment of the company, it is suspected that there is a possibility of online ride-hailing drivers falsely brushing orders and swindling coupons and subsidies on the company's platform. In September of the same year, the ride-hailing company went to the police station to report the case. The relevant suspects have been arrested one after another.

The procuratorate alleges that between April and August 2021, the defendant Yue used his registered driver account of an online ride-hailing platform to swindle more than 69,000 yuan in coupons, platform subsidies and red packet subsidies given by the company to real orders by making up customer orders and using a virtual location software to modify the location.

Yue confessed that he learned from other drivers that there is software that can simulate running routes to earn coupons and driver subsidies for the platform. The specific mode of operation is through the client to use coupons to issue the order, and then through the driver to receive the order through the simulation positioning software to reach the destination, to complete the order to get a commission, from which to earn the price difference of the coupon and the platform's subsidy red packet to the driver. You can swipe hundreds of fake orders a month. At first, I was brushing fake orders from Shanghai, but later I heard that there were more coupons in Beijing, and I was positioned to brush fake orders in Beijing through simulation positioning software. I only wanted to "fetch wool", but I didn't expect it to constitute a crime.

The court finally ruled that the defendant Yue Mou defrauded the company's property through fictional facts for the purpose of illegal possession, and that his behavior had violated the Criminal Law of the people's Republic of China and constituted a crime of fraud. He was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, suspended for three years, and fined 30,000 yuan, and three crime tools and mobile phones were seized and confiscated.
