CTOnews.com November 28 news, in January this year, Microsoft Xbox announced the acquisition of game giant Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion (about 489.831 billion yuan). Because of the distance involved, Sony, players and regulators have been paying close attention to this.

The Swedish state agency Sjunde AP-Fonden recently filed a lawsuit against two companies involved in the acquisition, and Bloomberg has released the 205-page complaint document. In short, Sjunde AP-Fonden said Microsoft colluded with Activision Blizzard to reach an acquisition "at a low price" and said the process was fraudulent.

CTOnews.com learned that the complaint focused on how the deal was struck and what the terms of its CEO Bobby Kotick were after Activision Blizzard revealed several scandals of sexual misconduct before the acquisition was announced.

Sjunde AP-Fonden believes that the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is "to manipulate / take advantage of the troubled gaming giant's sexual harassment crisis and protect its CEO."

In addition, it further named every current and former member of Activision Blizzard's board, noting that the price of $69 billion was to allow a low-price deal between the two and allow Kotick to keep his job at least until the regulatory review was over.

The company claimed that Microsoft colluded with Activision to acquire the big game company at a "low price" and insisted it was a hoax. "this is a good deal for shareholders. We got 98 per cent of the votes," said Joe Christinat, a spokesman for Activision. "the board of directors went through an open and in-depth voting process to make the right decisions for employees, shareholders and players." Microsoft said: "our proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard negotiations are legal and fair."

It is unclear how the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will take place, or the outcome of the lawsuit. But if the deal succeeds, Microsoft will become the largest gaming company in the Americas and the third largest in the world, after Tencent and Sony.
