1. You can't overlay UV with a dimmer. I encounter a lot of situations. Many beginners will buy a UV protection lens and never take it off. When using a dimmer or polarization, screw the filter directly on the UV. This is very wrong!

UV does not play any role in improving the picture quality, but can only protect the lens. When other filters are superimposed with UV, the thickness of the filter will be greatly increased, resulting in a decrease in dark angle or light transmittance.

And when there is plenty of sunshine, it will form a reflective refraction between the dimmer mirror and the UV mirror, increasing the effect of glare. Therefore, neither square nor circular subtractor can be superimposed with UV.

2. Focus first, and then install the dimmer with high power, which will affect the clarity of the picture in the LCD screen, so it is not easy to see whether the focus is accurate, so it is recommended to complete the manual focus before installing the filter. during the day, you can also switch the focus mode of the lens to manual after automatic focus.

In fact, due to the different light at the scene, the most appropriate shutter speed after installing the filter will be different, so in the speed of 30 seconds, we do not have to calculate at all, but open the LCD screen, WYSIWYG.

All brands of cameras have the function of real-time view. Nikon's camera presses the OK key in the lower left corner, Sony selects View on in the menu bar, and Panasonic chooses real-time view mode. In this way, the brightness of the LCD screen will change with the adjustment of the parameters, you only need to adjust the three elements, watching the normal exposure on the screen can be filmed.

To reflect the calm of the water, use ultra-long exposure. For example, to reflect the calm of the lake and the mirror effect of the water surface, it takes a long exposure of more than 20 seconds.

Water surface is calm, ultra-long exposure to reflect the flow pattern of water, use 0.5 to 2 second shutter. Such as streams, waterfalls, sea water splashing. Ultra-long exposure can only completely blur the shape of the flow, and the right shutter can catch the shape.

The sea view pays attention to catching the spatter shape, the waves are very fast, so the shutter can be in 0.2 to 1 second, and the shape will be different, so 4 and 6 dimmers are the most commonly used in the sea view.

6. The dim light environment does not need a dimmer. Before several students asked me, "what to do when I was shooting a night scene with a dimmer for more than 30 seconds?" I realized that this was also a problem.

You don't need a dimmer to shoot a night scene, and the tracks are not captured by a dimmer. The night scene itself is dark. When the lowest sensitivity and aperture is about 10, the shutter can reach 15 seconds or more, and you can shoot the tracks directly.
