But now Intel is ready to release the next generation of Xeon series workstation processors, based on the same Eagle Stream platform as Sapphire Rapids.

According to Wccftech, Intel Sapphire Rapids-WS and W790 platforms will be released in Week 7 of 2023 (sometime February 12 to February 18) and available in April. This will be a major upgrade from the Ice Lake-SP series, which has a maximum core count of only 38.

According to introduction, the new product code is " Fishhawk Falls," will adopt the design of four Die tiles, up to 56 physical cores.

From Intel's roadmap, the next generation Xeon is divided into product lines like the Core series, such as Xeon W9, Xeon W7, Xeon W5, and Xeon W3. Each market segment has its own product needs.

As for the CPU family itself, the Intel Xeon W9 family will include 56-core and 36-core models with 105MB of L3 cache, 350W TDP and 112 PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes.

In addition, Xeon W5 series includes three models of 28, 24 and 20 cores, with 75 MB of L3 cache and 300W TDP, while Xeon W3 processors only have 16 and 12 core SKUs, as well as 45 MB of L3 cache and 270W TDP, as previously reported by CTOnews.com.
