Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 27 (Xinhua)-- Sinead McSweeney, Twitter's global vice president of public policy in Ireland, has obtained a temporary injunction from the Dublin High Court to prevent her dismissal, the Irish Times reported. McSweeney said her work account and Twitter's Dublin office were locked because she did not respond to an email sent by Elon Musk to employees, which asked employees to reply "yes" to promise to accept Twitter's "extreme hardcore" culture or leave.
Musk sent the email shortly after taking over Twitter on Nov. 16 and gave employees a little more than a day to confirm whether they wanted to stay at the company. If the employee does not click "Yes" on the form in the email, Twitter says it will "treat it as resignation" and then offer two months' salary and benefits, as well as one month's severance pay.
McSweeney said she did not press "yes" and McSweeney never replied to the email because it did not outline Musk's expectations of the employees who decided to stay, and the severance payment did not meet her "contractual rights". Later, McSweeney received an email confirming her "voluntary resignation" on November 18.
Although Twitter's lawyer reportedly admitted that McSweeney wanted to stay at the company and said she would resume access to her account, the Times reported that McSweeney's work account was still locked and unable to work. Justice Bu Brian O'Moore granted an injunction to McSweeney on Friday, which prevented Twitter from firing her, but did not reinstate her work, and the court will rehear her case next week.
McSweeney is not the only Twitter executive facing job uncertainty. Musk persuaded Twitter to stay after Robin Wheeler, a former head of advertising sales, resigned earlier this month, but eventually fired her. McSweeney also said she had been getting a very confusing message from Musk that he had been firing and rehiring employees with "no obvious logic".
Earlier this month, Mr Musk fired about half of Twitter's staff, and then he began to ask some of them to come back. Earlier this week, Musk said he had completed layoffs and that Twitter would start hiring to replace employees who had been laid off or resigned.
