CTOnews.com November 26, Wine is a compatibility layer that allows users to run thousands of Windows applications and games on Linux and macOS systems. Alexandre Julliard, project manager of Wine, released version 7.22 of Wine during Black five.

Wine 7.22 implements 32-bit for Vulkan and OpenGL on 64-bit thunks, OpenLDAP libraries are now bundled and built in portable executable (PE) format, and now support RAW print processors within WinPrint, more printf format conversion work, and various Bug fixes.

Wine 7.22 has 38 known bug Bug fixes that affect a variety of games, VBScript, USB, and others.

CTOnews.com learned that looking ahead, Julliard plans to release Wine 7.23 development version on December 9 and begin a code freeze for Wine 8.0. After that, it will enter the RC candidate and then release a stable version of Wine 8.0 in early 2023.
