Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Have you ever wondered if your account information at a bank would be lost in the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster? Do you still have the money you have in the bank?

In fact, we don't have to worry about it. Bank user information is very important data, so the bank must have a complete disaster recovery solution to solve this kind of problem, that is, to establish a disaster recovery system.

The so-called disaster recovery system literally refers to the system that tolerates disasters. With this system, even if a disaster strikes, the user data in the bank can be at ease. The disaster ranges from natural disasters to physical failures. In order to ensure the security of data and the reliability of business, each bank will set up one or more disaster recovery sites in multiple regions of the country and back up data with each other, which is equivalent to creating several "copies".

When the active site is damaged by disaster, resulting in permanent loss of data, data recovery can be achieved by virtue of the "copy" of the disaster recovery site. If there is no data backup of the disaster recovery site, it will cause inestimable economic losses and bad social impact.

The bank has a disaster recovery system, is there a disaster recovery system for communications? The answer is yes. Each operator has developed a complete and rigorous disaster recovery solution to protect the communication data of all users, including the balance of your phone charges!

Whether it is 3G, 4G or 5G, each operator has established disaster recovery points for communication services in the region. Disaster recovery points can not only ensure the reliability of all kinds of data, but also ensure the availability of services. This is the most important significance of establishing a disaster recovery system.

Take 5GC as an example. Similar to the financial system, 5GC also uses cross-regional disaster recovery deployment. When the data center (DC,Data Center) is deployed in two different regions, when the network equipment in the DC of one place is not available for some reason, the DC of another place will quickly take over the service, so as to ensure the availability of 5G services. This is a dual DC deployment. Dual DC deployment is one way to achieve deployment reliability.

In addition to dual DC deployment, what other measures does 5GC disaster recovery solution provide to achieve disaster recovery?

Deployment reliability 5GC disaster recovery solution supports dual DC deployment, mutually exclusive deployment, NF (Network Function network function) sub-domain deployment, network dual-plane and other ways to achieve deployment reliability.

Mutually exclusive deployment refers to the deployment of virtual machines on different physical machines to ensure that when an exception occurs in one physical machine, other virtual machines can still provide services. In short, don't put eggs in one basket.

NF sub-domain deployment refers to the separation of management domain, business domain and forwarding domain in NF deployment.

Two-plane network means that all logical network interfaces of 5GC NF have at least two different physical network planes that are backup to each other. When one of the network planes fails, the other network plane can take over all the network traffic to ensure that the service is not interrupted.

Architecture reliability 5GC disaster recovery solution supports load sharing and stateless characteristics, so as to achieve architecture reliability.

Load sharing means that all running instances share the processing business. When some of the running instances are abnormally down, the business is shared by the other running instances, so as to ensure the normal operation of the business. Load sharing adopts NumberM redundancy mode, that is, when N instances can meet the business processing of system capacity, M instances are provided for redundancy.

The figure above is a typical 3x1 redundancy mode. When three instances can meet the business processing of system capacity, one instance is provided for redundancy. When any one running instance fails, the other three running instances continue to work, thus ensuring that the system capacity and business processing will not be affected.

Stateless refers to the stateless design of micro-services. 3GPP defines UDSF (Unstructured Data Storage Function, unstructured data storage function) for unified storage of NF state data (also known as unstructured data, such as mobile data, etc.).

Business logic App can perform flexibility, expansion, termination, rebirth and migration operations at any time, which is the separation of computing and storage. Stateless design not only realizes the architecture reliability, but also ensures the data reliability.

The NF of data reliability 5GC is designed as stateless. After the current processing flow is completed, the state data such as user and session context are saved in UDSF, and multiple copies of the data are saved by UDSF. UDSF supports disaster recovery with 1-to-1 redundancy and dual DC deployment to ensure data reliability.

Resource reliability 5GC disaster recovery solution supports link detection, self-healing and other mechanisms to achieve resource reliability.

Self-healing refers to: for business processing nodes that continue to fail, the system will carry out multi-level self-healing of the nodes. According to the user's self-healing strategy configuration, the system successively adopts the strategy of restarting the container, restarting the container, restarting the virtual machine, and rebuilding the virtual machine to rise step by step, so as to restore the business as soon as possible.

Link detection means that the service node regularly sends heartbeat survival messages to the management node, and if the management node detects a node that has not been beating for a long time, it is determined to be a fault node, thus triggering the business migration process. Migrate the business of the failed node to other normal nodes, so as to ensure the reliability of the service.

Well, having said that, you no longer have to worry about the balance of your phone bill, let alone the money in the bank. You also know what disaster recovery is.
