CTOnews.com, November 26, Saint-Nazaire Offshore Wind Farm of 480MW, France's first commercial offshore wind power project, has been put into operation. The offshore wind power project is developed by the Eolien Maritime France (EMF) consortium, which is composed of EDF Renewables, Enbridge and the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Committee.

CTOnews.com learned that all 80 GE Haliade 150-6 MW offshore wind turbines for the offshore wind power project were installed in September this year, but the first power output began in June this year.

"this is an important part of the development strategy of the EMF consortium," said Bruno Bensasson, chairman and chief executive of the EDF consortium. "next we will continue to promote global renewable energy development, with a target of 60 GW by 2023. We are also actively involved in the government's national low-carbon strategy, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through energy conservation, nuclear power and accelerating the development of renewable energy."
