CTOnews.com November 26 news, citing foreign technology media Phoronix reported that the open source project Sound Open Firmware 2.2.3 was recently released, further improving the support for Intel Raptor Lake processors. This version update also improves backward compatibility technologies for processors such as Raptor Lake / Alder Lake / Ice Lake.

CTOnews.com learned that Sound Open Firmware 2.3 was launched in September this year, and today's 2.2.3 is an old branch maintenance update. Interested users can go to Github to download.

Sound Open Firmware is one of the great open source projects originally initiated by Intel to provide open source audio DSP firmware and development tools. The project has been supported by Google, AMD, MediaTek, NXP, Realtek and other vendors.
