Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, Nov. 26 (Xinhua)-- Japan's SoftBank has unveiled a new technology that allows small drones to detect and locate the smartphone signals of people buried in sand and rubble in disasters.
It is said that the drone can fly continuously for more than 100 hours and can detect buried cell phone signals at a depth of up to 5 meters. Softbank Corp. said that in the future, consideration will be given to using it in local fire departments to help rescue the victims as soon as possible.
CTOnews.com learned that this is a system developed by Softbank Corp. in conjunction with the Teruya Fujii Lab of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Futaba Electronics, based on the "victim location identification system using UAV wireless relay system" developed in 2004.
According to reports, the basic mechanism of this search and rescue system is basically the same as that of the traditional scheme, but it uses a wired power supply design by flying a UAV over the search site and simultaneously obtaining the receiving power of the radio waves emitted from the smartphone and the location information of the UAV that receives GPS signals from the downward directional antenna installed on the UAV.
As a result of this system, they built a dirt mountain at the Futaba Electronics Chosei factory in Chosei village, Chiba prefecture, and buried a smartphone in it. The Tushan is about 200m away from the ground power supply, with trees about 10m high and fences about 3m high in the middle.
From the results of this experiment, the UAV can reach the sky above the mound through the cable of the auxiliary UAV and successfully identify the location of the smartphone buried in the sand.
