According to FlatpanelsHD, LG has adopted the new OLED.EX technology in all new OLED TV panels produced since the end of the second quarter of 2022, including two factories in Paju, South Korea and Guangzhou, China.

This technology is different from traditional OLED technology, it adds deuterium compounds to the substrate, combined with personalized algorithms to make the LED emit brighter light, which also makes up for the disadvantages of OLED compared to mini LED.

OLED screens have millions of pixels that emit light independently, eliminating the need for a separate backlight, allowing OLED EX to achieve perfect black, rich and accurate color representation, and extremely fast response times.

It is worth mentioning that the display panels are all in stock, so this does not mean that all TVs currently on the market using LG OLED panels are OLED EX screens.

According to reports, there are currently more than 20 brands purchasing OLED TV panels from LG Display, including LG Electronics, Hisense, Sony, Panasonic, Philips and Vizio. However, only some manufacturers have marked the slogan "OLED EX." Philips launched the OLED807 with OLED.EX technology earlier this year.

Not surprisingly, LG Display's OLED EX panel will soon be available in OLED TVs of all brands except Samsung. Because Samsung has its own alternatives, such as Samsung S95B and Sony A95K use Samsung's QD-OLED panel, which is not bad compared to LG's WOLED (EX) panel.
