But the incident is far from over, the loopholes exposed in the incident have been exploited by a number of hackers, and the stolen user data have been put on the dark net for sale.

It was previously thought that user data was obtained by only one hacker (or a hacker team) in the Twitter security incident, but Twitter later admitted that multi-wave hackers from different sources used vulnerabilities found in the incident to steal user data.

The figures include Twitter users in the UK, almost all EU countries and parts of the United States. The media has obtained multiple files, sorted by phone numbers from + XX 0000 to + XX 9999, and corresponding to the Twitter account name. Any Twitter account with discoverability | phone option enabled at the end of 2021 is listed in the dataset.

According to the source, hackers can download about 500000 records per hour, and the data obtained from multiple sources are sold on the dark Internet for about $5000.
