Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com November 25 news, CMOS image sensor supplier SmartSens recently launched a new 8.3MP vehicle size-class image sensor-SC850AT. The new product uses the Stevie SmartClarity-2 imaging technology architecture and upgraded self-developed Raw domain algorithms, combined with SFCPixel, PixGain HDR proprietary technology, LFS technology, etc., resulting in high resolution, high sensitivity, high dynamic range of 140dB, and excellent LED flicker suppression performance. In addition, as a new product of Automotive Sensor (AT) Series series, SC850AT is based on ASIL-D functional safety process development, in line with AEC-Q100 Grade 2 and functional safety ISO 26262 ASIL B level requirements, with high performance, high reliability, high security to better meet the needs of the vehicle market for high-resolution ADAS / AD vision solutions.
In order to ensure driving safety, the vehicle camera must have the ability to obtain high-quality image information in large scenes such as backlight or tunnel entrances and exits. SC850AT has the ultra-high dynamic range of 140dB, ensuring that it still has the ability to accurately capture bright and dark details in complex light conditions.
In addition to supporting Staggered HDR, SC850AT also supports Stevie's unique PixGain HDR technology. Through the combination of High Gain (high conversion gain) and Low Gain (low conversion gain) double images under the same frame exposure, supplemented by a two-pixel special design, it can effectively avoid motion artifacts caused by HDR synthesis during high-speed driving, and ensure the image sensor to achieve ultra-high dynamic range of 140dB at the same time. It can capture more accurate image information and further meet the upgrade HDR requirements of vehicle high-end ADAS / AD applications.
As the core component of high-level intelligent driving, vehicle image sensor needs to face the key challenge of restraining the flicker of LED lights. SC850AT is equipped with LFS technology (LED flicker suppression technology) independently developed by Stevie, which extends the exposure time of certain pixels to cover the LED flicker frequency with a unique process design while maintaining the normal exposure time of some pixels, and finally gets an image without LED flicker, achieving excellent LED flicker suppression function, helping ADAS / AD system to accurately judge LED traffic lights and headlights.
CTOnews.com learned that the SC850AT launched by Stevie has a high resolution of 8.3 megapixels, which can help the in-vehicle ADAS forward-looking camera reach a detection distance of more than 200m, observe smaller objects from a longer distance, and better meet the upgrading needs of in-vehicle ADAS sensing applications.
At the same time, in terms of full-color night vision imaging, based on Stevie SmartClarity-2 technology, using Stevie SFCPixel patented technology and PixGain technology under the support of high conversion gain technology, SC850AT can also achieve clear picture shooting in low illuminance environment at night.
On the other hand, relying on Stevie's innovative ultra-low noise peripheral reading circuit technology and upgraded color technology, the pixel response non-uniformity (PRNU) and electrical crosstalk (Blooming) can be significantly reduced to less than 0.8% and 1%, respectively, and the imaging noise and night light overflow can be effectively controlled, so that the ADAS / AD camera can have richer details and more realistic color imaging effect. Low-light application scenarios that enable driving at night.
In order to achieve better imaging quality, SC850AT also has a new upgrade at the on-chip algorithm level. For Raw domain algorithms, the new generation of on-chip algorithms not only retains the advantages of basic algorithms such as bad point correction (DPC), black level correction (BLC), lens shadow correction (LSC) and color correction (CCM), but also focuses on optimizing algorithms such as noise reduction and HDR fusion, which can more effectively protect image details and improve image effect as a whole.
Stevie has obtained the ASIL D certification of the ISO 26262Flux 2018 vehicle functional safety process on November 8, which means that Stevie has achieved effectiveness in improving the safety development system and process of vehicle specifications, creating advanced specification-level chips, and promoting the high-quality development of the smart car industry.
