Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com November 25 news, in DSCC's latest OLED Equipment Report shows that OLED panel revenue fell 11% year-on-year, panel shipments fell 17% year-on-year. Smartphones, tablets and TV apps together accounted for 70% of shipments and 85% of panel revenue.

According to OLED panel application:

Smartphone shipments fell 26% year-on-year and panel revenue fell 16% year-on-year.

Smartwatch shipments rose 11% year-over-year and revenue rose 37% year-over-year.

TV shipments decreased 4% year-over-year and revenue decreased 12% year-over-year.

Monitor shipments grew 222% year-over-year and revenue grew 66% year-over-year.

Laptop shipments rose 9% year-over-year, while revenue fell 2% year-over-year.

Tablet shipments fell 21% year-over-year and revenue fell 36% year-over-year.

Vehicle display shipments increased 152% year-on-year and revenue increased 119% year-on-year.

Games show shipments up 7% year-over-year and revenue up 2%.

Smartphones remained the largest OLED app in Q3 2022, accounting for 68% of OLED market share and 75% of panel revenue share, but both were lower than in Q2 2022. OLED smartwatches accounted for 23% market share and 9% revenue share, respectively, higher than in the second quarter of 2022. OLED TV has a unit share of 1%, and a revenue share of 9%.

In the third quarter of 2022, average panel prices for smartphones and smartwatches increased, driven by increased shipments of folding panels in the third quarter due to new product launches and the launch of Apple's iPhone 14 series and the launch of new smartwatches. However, among other non-Apple Samsung brand panel price trends, the average selling price of OLED panels showed a downward trend. Especially in the panel price outlook for 2023, the price of rigid OLED panels dominated by mobile phone applications is required to reach a similar level to the price of LTPS LCD panels, while the price of low-cost specifications for flexible OLED panels is required to reach a similar level to the price of rigid OLED panels before.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple's share of OLED smartphone panel purchases by brand increased to 45% in Q3 2022 from 29% in Q2 2022, followed by Samsung's 17% market share, down from 23% in Q2 2022. In the third quarter of 2022, rigid OLED smartphone panels fell 41% month-on-month, flexible OLED smartphone panels grew 9% quarterly, and foldable OLED smartphone panels grew 103% quarterly. Rigid OLED due to price problems caused by rigid OLED to flexible OLED product changes brought about by the amplitude of change is very obvious, and this trend is more severe in 2023.
