A total of 67698 Model S and Model X electric vehicles were imported during the period from September 25, 2013 to November 21, 2020.

CTOnews.com has learned that some vehicles within the scope of this recall may have inconsistent feedback voltage of the power battery voltage sensing loop with the true voltage of the brick due to software problems, resulting in miscalculation of the battery management system, and warnings such as "in need of maintenance" and "safe parking" on the vehicle screen, and that the vehicle will gradually stop its power output, which in extreme cases may increase the risk of vehicle collision accidents, and there are safety risks.

Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will upgrade the software for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology. The upgraded vehicle increases the ability to judge the voltage false alarm of the sensing circuit. In extreme cases, if an abnormal voltage sensing circuit is detected while driving, the vehicle will maintain a continuous power output until the end of the current driving cycle and stop. Users are advised to follow the machine instructions to drive the vehicle to a safe position or pull over. For vehicles that cannot be recalled through remote upgrade (OTA) technology, Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will contact relevant users through Tesla service center to upgrade the software for vehicles free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

A total of 2736 Model 3 electric vehicles were imported from January 12, 2019 to November 22, 2019, and some domestic Model 3 electric vehicles were produced from October 14, 2019 to September 26, 2022, totaling 10127.

This recall is aimed at vehicles that have removed the middle seat belt of the second row of seats due to after-sales repair and maintenance. When the seat belt fastening bolts are reinstalled in the service center, the fastening parts of the middle seat belt and the left seat belt buckle device of some vehicles may not be worn into the connecting bolts. If these vehicles collide, the seat belt will not be able to play a restraining role, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants in the accident, there are safety risks.

Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will inspect the middle seat belt devices of the second row of seats for vehicles within the recall range free of charge. If it is found that the fixing parts of the middle seat belt and the left seat belt buckle are not installed correctly, they will be reinstalled in accordance with the regulations to eliminate safety risks.

Emergency measures: users should drive the vehicle carefully before the recall is carried out, and can determine whether it is secure by pulling the middle seat belt and left seat belt buckle of the second row of seats. Contact the service center for maintenance as soon as possible after the recall begins.
