CTOnews.com November 25, the documentation Foundation today announced LibreOffice 7.4.3. As the third maintenance update of the open source, free, and cross-platform office suite LibreOffice 7.4 "Community", a total of 100 BUG were fixed, focusing on improving the interoperability and reliability of documentation. The download link for LibreOffice 7.4.3 has been posted on the official website and supports DEB or RPM-based GNU / Linux distributions. "LibreOffice provides the highest level of compatibility in the office suite market, natively supports the OpenDocument Format (ODF) format, beating proprietary formats in terms of security and robustness," says Italo Venoli, of the documentation Foundation. "the new version adds support for Microsoft Office files, filters a large number of traditional document formats, and returns ownership and control to users."

The documentation Foundation also reminds users that this is the "community" version of LibreOffice 7.4, supported by volunteers and members of the open source community. For enterprise deployments and users who need technical support, the documentation Foundation recommends using the LibreOffice enterprise family of applications from ecosystem partners.

CTOnews.com learned that the LibreOffice 7.4 series will receive three more maintenance updates by June 12, 2023, according to the roadmap. The next maintenance update, LibreOffice 7.4.4, is scheduled for early January 2023.

The documentation Foundation urges LibreOffice 7.3 users to update to LibreOffice 7.4 as soon as possible, and the former will be discontinued on November 30, 2022.
