CTOnews.com news on November 25, a special meeting on lunar and deep space exploration was held in Haikou yesterday. In addition to releasing the "Collection of International payloads for Chang'e-6", the meeting also revealed news about the mission plan of Chang'e-7.

The meeting announced the opportunity for the Chang'e-7 mission, according to CCTV news. The Chang'e-7 mission is scheduled to launch before and after 2026, plans to carry out environmental and resource exploration at the South Pole of the moon, and lays the foundation for the construction of an international lunar research station.

The deadline for the application of the letter of intent for the Chang'e-7 mission is February 1, 2023. It is planned to complete the preliminary selection in early April, the collection of proposals in early June, the load to be carried in early July, and the confirmation of the interface in early September.

CTOnews.com learned that the Chang'e-6 mission is scheduled to be launched in Wenchang before 2025. It will carry out on-site investigation and analysis of the landing area on the far side of the moon, and conduct systematic and long-term laboratory research on the samples.

In addition, the Chang'e-5 mission, launched in November 2020, realized China's first unmanned sampling return to the moon, which is also the third step in China's lunar exploration project.
