CTOnews.com November 25, Microsoft launched Win10 2022 Update last month and announced yesterday that it was ready for extensive deployment. Foreign science and technology media GHackes raised a question in its latest report: will Microsoft release functional updates for Win10 in the future? Will Win10 2022 Update be the last feature update?

It is true that Win10 22H2 is an important feature update, but Microsoft did not disclose what improvements and new features were introduced. Microsoft has previously said that the Win10 system will be supported until October 14, 2025, while the home version of Win10 2022 Update released last month will reach the end of support on May 14, 2024, and the enterprise and educational versions will end support on May 13, 2025.

The support period of enterprise long service channel (Enterprise Long-Term Servicing Channel), Internet of things enterprise long service channel (IoT Enterprise Long-Term Servicing Channel) and long service branch office version (Long-Term Servicing Branch editions) is longer.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of time, you may notice that there is not much room for future feature updates, as long as they follow the same support lifecycle. The future may be that Microsoft will release another feature update for Win10 Home in the second half of 2023 and then support it until October 2025. On the other hand, there is no room for enterprise and educational editions to update features that follow Microsoft's current support lifecycle. Under the current terms, the 2023 update of the enterprise and educational editions will push support until 2026.

Microsoft can adjust the support life cycle again, or decide to use Windows 10 2022 Update as the last update of Windows 10, as suggested by Martin Geu ú n at Dr. Windows. Microsoft has not disclosed its plans, and it seems unlikely that Microsoft will disclose its plans in the coming months.
