CTOnews.com, Nov. 25 (Xinhua)-- Elon Musk, CEO of social media company Twitter, announced on November 24 local time that he would start restoring most of his previously banned Twitter accounts next week, with the aim of repealing Twitter's policy of permanently suspending users who violate its rules for many times, according to CCTV News.

At present, it is not clear how Musk and the Twitter team will distinguish between violations of banned accounts, and the total account data to be recovered has not yet been released.

CTOnews.com learned that in April, Musk offered to buy Twitter for $54.20 a share. On October 28, Musk completed the deal to privatize Twitter for $44 billion (about 317.68 billion yuan).

After Mr Musk bought Twitter, the company announced 50 per cent layoffs of about 3700 people. At present, it is estimated that the social media giant, which had more than 7500 people, has fewer than 2700 people left.
