CTOnews.com, Nov. 24, Strategy Analytics reported that smartphone shipments in France increased by 5% year-on-year and in the third quarter of 2022. This is the second consecutive quarter of annual growth in the market. It is the third largest smartphone market in Western Europe.

Samsung, apple and Xiaomi were the top three suppliers this quarter, with a market share of 33%, 24% and 13%, respectively. The top five suppliers together account for 80% of the market.

CTOnews.com learned that this is also one of the few markets that Chinese manufacturers have failed to occupy. They accounted for a total of 32% of sales in the quarter. This is 5% lower than it was a year ago.

Can Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, realme and others challenge Samsung and Apple's dominance in the coming holiday season and beyond? Where will the French smartphone market go in the face of economic difficulties in the rest of Europe? It remains to be seen.
