CTOnews.com, November 24, China's first batch of 15 wide-rail passenger cars exported to Bangladesh developed by CRRC Tangshan were shipped at Tianjin Port today and shipped to Chittagong. The passenger cars are designed to operate at 120km / h per hour, using 1676mm wide gauge, and are scheduled to run on the Padma Bridge railway connection line in mid-2023.

100 wide-rail passenger cars exported by CRRC Tangshan Company to Bangladesh are specially designed and manufactured for the connection line project of Padma Bridge. In view of the natural environment and train operation needs of Bangladesh, the dissimilar steel welded structure car body with Ferritic stainless steel as the main material is applied in the exported passenger cars of our country for the first time, and the side wall adopts the through-long longitudinal beam and side column plug structure, which greatly improves the flatness of the side wall of the car body. The new wide-rail passenger cars also apply new structures and new technologies such as built-in side doors, roof water injection, split large ventilation blinds and ecological stool collection system to achieve the goals of better structure, lower energy consumption, more comfortable ride and more convenient maintenance.

CTOnews.com learned that the Padma Bridge is a dual-purpose road-railway bridge, and when it is completed, the original crossing time of several hours will be shortened to 10 minutes, ending thousands of years of history of local residents travelling by ferry. On August 23 this year, the railway link of the Padma Bridge began to be laid, starting from the Dhaka Station in the capital of Bangladesh, through the Padma Bridge to the terminal Jesol, with a total length of nearly 170 kilometers, which will add a link to the Pan-Asian Railway and Asian Highway network, with all-weather passenger and freight transport capacity, and will become an important international railway transport route between East Union Myanmar and India in the future.
