This is the first time that PetroChina has realized the synchronous LNG filling operation of offshore ships, which opened the prelude to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area's offshore LNG filling business, and played a leading and exemplary role for PetroChina and even the whole country in exploring offshore ship LNG filling and serving the green development of international shipping.

CTOnews.com learned that PetroChina started synchronous filling operations for container ships at wharf 16 in Yantian International Port area at 15:00 on the same day. This filling is a series of ships of 23000 TEUs powered by liquefied natural gas. The filling operation lasts about 6 hours, with a total filling of about 7000 cubic meters of LNG.

Compared with the previous filling operation, the ship-to-ship filling operation in Yantian Port can realize the synchronous operation of cargo loading and unloading and LNG filling, and can provide flexible filling service for LNG freighters in the port of berth. there is no need to detour to Shanghai Port, Singapore, Europe and other ports to replenish, and the ship's port turnover can be saved at least 7 days, which greatly improves the efficient operation capacity of international ships in port handling and port operation. It is of great significance for PetroChina to further integrate into the construction of international shipping hub in Yantian District.
