Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 24, according to the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the research team of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences carried out in-situ microanalysis of the sulphide particles in the lunar soil powder taken from the Chang'e 5 surface, which confirmed the existence of impact-forming submicron magnetite in the lunar soil for the first time.
The picture shows that the landing area of Chang'e 5 of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences shows a relatively weak magnetic field intensity, and the maximum magnetic field intensity is estimated to be only 1.18 nT. In spite of this, this study still has the following two important meanings for explaining the genesis of lunar magnetic anomalies: (1) since the era of Apollo, people's understanding of ferromagnetic minerals on the moon is mainly metal iron. On the basis of previous studies, we have provided another important ferromagnetic mineral-magnetite on lunar surface. (2) previous studies only established the correlation between large impact sputters and lunar surface magnetic anomalies, but did not pay attention to the material transformation during the impact process. Our study effectively established the relationship between the formation of ferromagnetic minerals and impact events.
The above research results are published in the authoritative international journal Nature Communications (Nature Communications).
CTOnews.com learned that since the Chang'e-5 recoverer successfully returned 1731 grams of lunar soil samples to the ground in December 2020, a total of four batches of more than 50 grams of lunar soil samples have been distributed to more than 100 scientific research teams, covering the history of lunar geological evolution and the analysis of lunar resources.
