CTOnews.com, November 24 (Xinhua)-- Purdue University, a public university with leading semiconductor manpower development and R & D programs, and GF, a manufacturer in semiconductor manufacturing, recently announced the establishment of a new strategic partnership to strengthen and expand cooperation in semiconductor research and education. The signed agreement outlines opportunities for cooperation between GE Core and Purdue University in joint research and development projects as well as educational opportunities.

For GE Core, the partnership with Purdue University will be supervised by GE Core Lab, which leads the company's research and development and works with leading academic, government and industry partners to promote the core's differentiated technology portfolio.

Earlier this year, Purdue University launched the first large-scale comprehensive semiconductor degree program in the United States, offering an innovative set of interdisciplinary degrees and certificates in semiconductors and microelectronics, CTOnews.com learned. Gregg Bartlett, the CTO of GE Core, was the first member of the leadership Committee for Semiconductor degrees at Purdue University, which advises on the program and its courses.
