In this video, there is an in-depth comparison of the camera performance of the two flagship phones, including photos in different scenes such as day and night, as well as selfies and videos.

The Galaxy S22 offers a dedicated 3x optical zoom camera, so it has an inherent advantage in telephoto shooting. Pixel 7, on the other hand, uses digital zoom, so it can't compare with S22 in zoom ability. Therefore, compared with Pixel 7, Galaxy S22 can take pictures with a more blurred background in portrait mode.

CTOnews.com learned that although Pixel 7 cameras tend to have more natural colors and skin tones, the S22 algorithm may be better in some cases. In most cases, the Galaxy S22 seems to capture more detail and have better focus.

It is worth noting that these differences between Google and Samsung's mobile photography methods are also evident in the leaked Galaxy S23 sample photos. Therefore, this trend will continue in 2023.

If Pixel 7 has a clear advantage over Galaxy S22, it may be in shooting 4K video with a rear camera, mainly because Google phones provide a seamless 4K shooting experience when users switch between wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses.
