CTOnews.com, Nov. 24 (Reuters)-Berkshire Hathaway said Warren Buffett had donated more wealth to four family charities, but did not disclose whether the billionaire chairman had made a new donation to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Buffett donated another 2.4 million Class B shares of the conglomerate on Wednesday, worth about $759 million at the closing price, according to a regulatory filing.

Among them, Buffett donated 1.5 million shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. According to its website, the foundation, named after its late first wife, offers college scholarships to Nebraska students. Another 900000 shares were allocated equally to charities run by his children Howard, Susan and Peter: the Howard Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation and the Novo Foundation. According to the Buffett Family Foundation's website, the Howard G-Buffett Foundation is committed to reducing hunger, alleviating conflicts and improving public safety around the world. The Sherwood Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Nebraska; the Novo Foundation aims to support the community.

CTOnews.com learned that Buffett had donated more than half of his Berkshire shares since 2006, valued at more than $46 billion. More than 3/4 of the shares are donated to the Gates Foundation, which remains one of the largest private charitable foundations in the world, despite the divorce of its co-founder last year.

Berkshire and the Gates Foundation did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

After the latest donation, Buffett still owns 15.5% of Berkshire's shares and controls 31.4% of its voting rights. According to Forbes magazine, Buffett is still worth $110.2 billion, ranking fifth in the world.

Berkshire owns dozens of companies, such as BNSF Railroad and Geico Automotive Insurance, as well as shares in Apple, Bank of America and Western Oil, which Buffett has run since 1965.
