Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, November 23, Dalian Shipbuilding heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Dawang Group), a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., announced that on November 21, the world's first 7500 cubic meters of liquid carbon dioxide carrier No. 1 and No. 2 built for Norway's Aurora borealis started at the same time.

According to ▲, the ship specializes in marine carbon transport and storage, with a total length of about 130m, a width of 21.2m, a structural draught of 8m, flying the Norwegian flag and joining the DNV Classification Society. The ship form of this project is designed and completed by Dayuan Group independently, with complete independent intellectual property rights, and the ship form research and development process adopts a variety of innovative technical means to lead the future development direction of the ship type.

CTOnews.com learned that the ship is equipped with a full-pressure C-type liquid cargo tank made of special materials for the first time in the world, and the main engine is equipped with liquefied natural gas and marine light diesel fuel. The emission levels of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from the ship meet the most stringent requirements. Through the application of two innovative technologies of rotor sail and bubble drag reduction, the emission level has been greatly reduced and the effect of energy saving has been improved. Meet the most advanced energy efficiency design index (EEDI Phase III) requirements.

After construction, the ship will be used in the European carbon dioxide capture and storage program to collect carbon dioxide produced by European industry, transport it to a carbon dioxide receiving terminal on the west coast of Norway, and then put it into the seabed for permanent storage at 2600 meters below the sea floor, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions in Europe and advancing the ultimate goal of carbon neutralization in Europe as a whole.
