Memory revenue fell 27% on a quarterly basis (QoQ) due to falling demand for data centers, PCs and mobile, as well as customer inventory adjustments. "

After a record run, the semiconductor market has cooled and consumer confidence has weakened, leading to a historic decline in the third quarter. Sales of semiconductors are also increasing as consumer demand is expected to increase in the second half of the year. From 2002 to 2021, the long-term average quarterly growth rate was 8%.

CTOnews.com learned that the report said three memory-focused companies (Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron) all dropped one place in the rankings. Although major memory suppliers accounted for a decline of more than $10 billion in semiconductor revenue in the third quarter of 2022, they are not the only companies struggling. AMD's revenue fell as demand for personal computers slowed and inventories dwindled, just as Intel felt in the market last quarter.
