CTOnews.com previously reported that on July 19, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said at a press conference that everyone was generally concerned about the issue of exemption from purchase tax, and the State Council attached great importance to it, and the standing Committee asked relevant departments to seriously study the extension of exemption from purchase tax for new energy vehicles in the light of reality. At present, the relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology are stepping up research and issuing relevant results as soon as possible.

In addition, on July 7, 17 departments including the Ministry of Commerce issued the Circular on a number of measures to invigorate Automobile Circulation and expand Automobile consumption. The notice shows that the relevant departments support the consumption of new energy vehicles and are studying the extension of the exemption policy for the purchase of new energy vehicles when the tax policy expires.

In April last year, the Ministry of Finance and other three ministries formally issued a policy announcement on the exemption of new energy vehicles from purchase tax, exempting new energy vehicles from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. New energy vehicles exempt from vehicle purchase tax refer to pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid (including incremental) vehicles and fuel cell vehicles.
