CTOnews.com, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) Electric carmaker Rivian will stop the minimum price option for R1T pick-up trucks, which is equivalent to raising the entry price of the model by about $5500 (about 37345 yuan), according to the Wall Street Journal.

CTOnews.com learned that an online post from Rivian owners' Forum showed that Rivian was telling users who had pre-ordered a $67500 (458300 yuan) Explore package that they needed to upgrade to a $73000 (495700 yuan) Adventure package or cancel the order.

So far, Rivian has confirmed the move to The Verge and Bloomberg.

Rivian told customers in a letter that a large number of customers had been expected to choose the Explore package. But so far, only a small number of customers have chosen to change the configuration, and the vast majority of them have chosen Adventure configuration.
