CTOnews.com August 18 news, NetEase Yun Music today released its financial results for the first half of 2022, which showed that NetEase Yun Music's net income for the first half of the year was 4.26 billion yuan, an increase of 33.8% over the same period last year. The net adjusted net loss was 217 million yuan, and the net adjusted net loss for the same period last year was 533 million yuan, which was significantly narrowed by 59.3% over the same period last year.

NetEYun music revenue mainly comes from online music services and social entertainment services. Among them, the revenue from online music services in the first half of the year was 1.78 billion yuan, mainly due to the substantial increase in sales revenue from member subscriptions. The number of monthly paid households for online music services increased to 37.613 million from 26.134 million in the same period last year, an increase of 43.9% over the same period last year. The payment rate for online music services was further raised to 20.7%.

Revenue from social entertainment services and other services was 2.46 billion yuan, an increase of 56.7% over the same period last year. By the end of June, the number of households paying monthly fees for social entertainment services had increased to 1.2 million.

According to the financial report, thanks to the sharp increase in income and the control of content licensing fees, the gross profit margin further rose to 12.6% in the first half of 2022, recording a gross profit of 540 million yuan, higher than for the whole of last year. The adjusted net loss in the first quarter of 2022 shrank to 220 million yuan from 540 million yuan in the same period last year, a sharp decrease of 59.3% compared with the same period last year.

In the first half of 2022, the number of monthly active users of NetEase Yun Music's online music service was 181.9 million, which remained stable on a month-on-month basis and compared with the same period last year. The ratio of daily active users to monthly active users (the ratio of daily active users to monthly active users) remained stable at more than 30% during the period.

CTOnews.com learned that by the end of June 2022, NetEase Yun's content library contained more than 106 million music tracks, including music from well-known brands, independent musicians and homemade content. At the same time, NetEase Yun Music has served more than 529000 registered independent musicians. In the content library, about 2.3 million music tracks come from independent musicians registered with NetEase Yun Music.

According to the financial report, each daily active user spent an average of about 80.6 minutes per day listening to music on NetEase Yun Music platform in the first half of 2022, up from 76.9 minutes in the first half of 2021. Nearly half of the users browse the "comment area" while listening to music. As of June 30, 2022, 31.4% of music playback came from platform recommendations, up from 30.5% on June 30, 2021. In addition, NetEase Yun Music had 3.4 billion user-created playlists by the end of June 2022.

"NetEase's net profit of 12.9 billion yuan in the second quarter increased by 15.7% over the same period last year, and cloud music revenue increased by 29.5%."
