CTOnews.com learned that the report said that Xiaomi's first car planned two configurations, low and high. The low-equipped model plans to adopt 400V voltage platform, and the high-equipped model plans to adopt 800V voltage platform. Among them, the low-equipped models will be equipped with Ferdi's lithium iron phosphate blade battery, while the high-equipped models will be equipped with Ningde era Kirin battery.

According to public information, the blade battery is a new lithium iron phosphate battery independently developed by BYD. Compared with ternary lithium battery, blade battery has the characteristics of high safety, long cycle life and low cost. The energy density can reach 180wh/kg, and the volume is nearly 50% higher than that of the previous generation BYD battery, which greatly improves the overall endurance of the vehicle.

CTP3.0 Kirin battery was released in June this year, with volume utilization rate exceeding 72%, energy density up to 255Wh/kg, realizing 1000 km battery life of the whole vehicle. This battery will be launched in mass production in 2023. Kirin battery can support 5 minutes fast hot start and 10 minutes fast charge. Under the same chemical system and the same battery pack size, the charge of Kirin battery pack is 13% higher than that of 4680 system.

In October last year, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said on investor day that Xiaomi car and team work progress far exceeded his expectations, Xiaomi car is expected to be officially mass produced in the first half of 2024.
