According to news in the morning of August 18, Beijing time, Tesla reportedly parted ways with the head of the legal department responsible for the internal investigation of the purchase order.

David Searle, head of Tesla's legal department, left less than a month ago, according to people familiar with the matter. Dinna Eskin, the company's deputy general counsel, has taken over.

Mr. Sayr has been overseeing internal investigations related to Omid Afshal (Omead Ofshar). Afshal is the right-hand man of Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk), responsible for obtaining critical materials through the intricacies of the global supply chain. The investigation into a hard-to-get glass order has led to the departure of several Tesla employees.

On Wednesday, local time, Tesla tweeted that Sail had left the company, but did not disclose his current position. Mr Musk, Mr Sail, Mr Eskin and Allison Arebalo, head of human resources at Tesla, did not comment.

Sail, a former US federal prosecutor, first joined Tesla in 2021 as head of compliance, and his most recent title at Tesla was as legal director and company secretary.

The change of Tesla's chief legal officer comes at a time when Tesla is facing a Twitter lawsuit. Musk initially announced that he would buy Twitter for $44 billion, but later abandoned the acquisition on the grounds of false accounts, so he was sued by Twitter. The case is expected to open in mid-October.

Musk is currently the richest man in the world, with a personal wealth of about $267 billion. He sold nearly $7 billion of Tesla shares last week after his legal battle with Twitter escalated.

Eskin joined Tesla in 2017 as a senior business adviser, previously serving as assistant vice president of policy and regulatory affairs at the State University of New York Institute of Technology, and worked for a number of non-profit organizations affiliated with the university. earlier, he worked in the private sector for four years.

When William Berry (William Berry), Tesla's former vice president of legal affairs, left, Sail took over Tesla's legal director at the end of last year. Berry then served as general counsel at cloud security company Verkada.

Mr. Sayer's departure came before Tesla's annual shareholders' meeting at its headquarters in Austin, Texas, on August 4. A number of active shareholders expressed concern about the company's corporate governance at the meeting, and Tesla also announced plans to split shares at the meeting.

Tesla has changed at least four lead counsel since Jonathan Chang, the last full-time general counsel, left in December 2019.

The company recently hired Hui and former corporate governance expert Derek Wingham (Derek Windham) as senior director and deputy general counsel for corporate and security. The electric carmaker has also recruited Michael Michael Munro, a longtime oil and gas industry lawyer, as its new head of compliance.
