CTOnews.com August 18 news, MediaTek today announced that the MediaTek 5G platform new product T830 new release. As a single chip of highly integrated system, T830 uses 4nm process and Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU. Integrate M805G modem and support 3GPP R16 standard.

The MediaTek T830 platform uses a highly integrated compact design, which not only reduces the overall power consumption of the platform, but also helps equipment manufacturers to reduce development costs, shorten the product development cycle and accelerate time to market. The T830 supports full-band Sub-6GHz 5G networks, providing 5G rates up to 7Gbps, and operators can use existing cellular network infrastructure to reduce the cost of laying cables or fiber optics. The T830 can be used to create small 5G network devices that are easy to use, more mobile and portable, providing end users with a high-speed 5G experience.

CTOnews.com learned that the MediaTek T830 platform is a highly integrated system on a chip (SoC) that integrates M805G modems and supports the 3GPP R16 standard. The T830 uses Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU, equipped with Sub-6GHz full-band RF transceivers, GNSS receivers and power management systems, and built-in hardware-level MediaTek Network acceleration engine (Network Processing Unit) and Wi-Fi Network acceleration engine (Wi-Fi Offload Engine) to provide gigabit throughput for 5G cellular network transmission to Ethernet or Wi-Fi without increasing CPU load. The T830 also supports MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology to reduce the power consumption of 5G communications and provide high-performance, high-speed and energy-efficient communication solutions.

Manufacturers can combine the T830 with MediaTek Filogic wireless connectivity solutions: for 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) devices, the T830 can be used with the Filogic 680 (tri-band 4x4 Wi-Fi 7); for 5G mobile hotspot devices, the T830 can be used with the Filogic 380 (dual-band 2x2 Wi-Fi 7). These solutions support the advanced features of Wi-Fi 7, such as MLO multilink operation (Multi-Link Operation) and 320MHz wide channel support.

Other features of the MediaTek T830 platform include:

The MediaTek M80 modem on the T830 supports MediaTek 5G UltraSave power saving technology, which can optimize the working mode according to the 5G network environment and reduce the power consumption of 5G communications.

The M80 modem supports 5G NSA / SA networking and 5G FR quadruple carrier aggregation in FDD and TDD mixed modes.

Can support 5G dual card dual standby (DSDS) function.

In terms of interface, T830 supports three PCI-Express, USB 3.2, two USXGMII interfaces up to 10GbE, and supports RJ11 phone lines through the PCM / SPI interface.

Support 3D Graphic and display driver.

Supports open source software such as RDK-B, prplOS and OpenSync, and conforms to the operator's open operating system framework specification
