According to the financial report, the company's second-quarter revenue was 134 billion yuan, down 3% from the same period last year, and net profit was 18.6 billion yuan, down 56% from the same period last year. Under non-international financial reporting standards, net profit was 28.1 billion yuan, down 17% from the same period last year.

As of June 30, 2022, Wechat and WeChat had 1.299 billion monthly active users, up 3.8 per cent from a year earlier, according to the financial report. As of June 30, 2022, the number of monthly active users of QQ mobile terminals was 569 million, down 3.8 per cent from the same period last year.

According to the financial report, Tencent's value-added services revenue in the second quarter of 2022 was 71.7 billion yuan, which remained stable compared with the second quarter of 2021. Game revenue in the home market fell 1 per cent to 31.8 billion yuan. According to the financial report, as of June 30, 2022, the number of registered accounts of Tencent's fee-based value-added service was 235 million, an increase of 2.3% over the same period last year. Tencent Video has 122 million paying members and 83 million paying members in music.

Revenue from Tencent's financial technology and corporate services business rose 1 per cent year-on-year to 42.2 billion yuan in the second quarter of 2022, according to the financial report. The year-on-year growth rate of financial technology services revenue slowed compared with the previous quarter because a new round of COVID-19 epidemic briefly curbed commercial payment activities in April and May.

According to the financial report, as of June 30, 2022, the Group had 110715 employees, compared with 94182 in the same period last year, while the total salary cost in the six months to June 30 this year was 56.779 billion yuan, compared with 44.388 billion yuan in the same period last year. It is estimated that the average monthly salary of Tencent employees in the first half of 2022 was 85473.21 yuan.

Tencent's social network revenue rose 1 per cent to 29.2 billion yuan in the second quarter of 2022, reflecting an increase in revenue from the company's live video service and digital content subscription service, while revenue from live music and game streaming declined, according to the financial report.

Tencent's online advertising revenue fell 18% year-on-year to 18.6 billion yuan in the second quarter of 2022, reflecting significantly weak demand in the Internet services, education and financial sectors, according to the financial report. The advertising business was hit hard in April and May, partly offset by advertising revenue from Tencent's merger with Sogou. Social and other advertising revenue fell 17% to 16.1 billion yuan. Media advertising revenue fell 25 per cent to 2.5 billion yuan, due to a decline in advertising revenues for Tencent Video and Tencent News.

According to the financial report, Tencent invested 15.01 billion yuan in R & D in the second quarter of 2022, an increase of 17% over the same period last year.
