Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

On August 16, Intel official WeChat announced that its self-driving company Mobileye is testing its next-generation driving assistance system, Mobileye SuperVision, to take a few days of intercontinental road trips across six countries in southern and central Europe on roads where technology has only been mapped but where test vehicles have never been driven. The test selected a hybrid car with an upgraded 8-megapixel high-definition camera system. In the coming weeks, Mobileye plans to conduct more similar demonstrations in other parts of the world.

It is reported that the test selected a hybrid car with an upgraded 8-megapixel high-definition camera system that can provide high-resolution, 360-degree computer vision coverage. In addition, the Mobileye Roadbook of AV map driven by REM is also widely used to provide a lot of driving environment information for vehicles. In order to clearly demonstrate the adaptability and ability of REM, the test even allows guests to choose navigation points along the way, so that the route can be set or reset in the shortest possible time.

At the same time, in order to demonstrate the independent operation of the computer vision system, the test also allowed the vehicle to drive a considerable distance in "map-less mode" (without using Mobileye Roadbook), relying entirely on the vehicle's on-board camera. The performance of the system throughout the process is impressive-even on unlit roads after dark and on roads with worn lane markings, only occasional human intervention is required.

The success of this latest test will pave the way for the application of Mobileye SuperVision in more vehicles. In the coming weeks, Mobileye plans to conduct more similar demonstrations in other parts of the world, opening the door to further implementation of this eye-catching, comprehensive new driving assistance solution in the near future.

On the performance side, according to Intel's financial report, Mobileye was a great success in the second quarter, with revenue of $460 million, up 41% from a year earlier, better than the relatively flat growth rate of global car production. Profitability was also strong, with an operating profit of $190 million (up 43 per cent year-on-year) and an operating margin of 41 per cent.
