CTOnews.com, August 17, this month marks three years since the launch of Apple's Apple Card in the United States. The Apple credit card was first launched to a limited number of customers on August 6, 2019 and was extended to all eligible U.S. residents two weeks later.

However, for iPhone users living in other countries, Apple Card has never appeared. Because Apple Card has not yet been launched outside the United States.

According to the Canadian Bankers Association, one of the most significant countries for Apple Card will be Canada. As of January 2021, iPhone had more than 50 per cent market share and 7620 Visa and Mastercard cards in circulation. Apple Card standard 2% cash rebates purchased through Apple Pay and participating merchants'3% cash rebates are more competitive with other Canadian credit cards, but Apple Card rewards may vary from country to country.

During a trip to Germany in 2019, Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple was willing to offer credit cards in other countries, but he pointed out that banks and regulations vary around the world. Last year, the Apple Card trademark was approved in Canada, but Apple has not announced any plans to expand the card service internationally.

Launched in partnership with investment banks Goldman Sachs and Mastercard, Apple Card is fully manageable through the wallet application on iPhone or Apple Watch. Its main features include a color-coded summary of expenses, cash returns paid daily, interest-a free funding option for new Apple products, free of charge except for interest charges on overdue balances. Stores that do not accept contactless payments can also use physical Apple Card.
