CTOnews.com, Aug. 17 (Xinhua)-- according to the Nikkei News, Apple is in talks to make its first Apple Watch and MacBook in Vietnam, and the technology giant is seeking to diversify its production regions.

According to the report, three people with direct knowledge of the matter said that Apple suppliers Lixun Precision and Foxconn have begun trial production of the Apple Watch in northern Vietnam, which is the first time the device has been produced outside China.

CTOnews.com learned that in June, Apple moved some iPad production from China to Vietnam for the first time in history due to strict epidemic control in Shanghai and surrounding areas. In May, Apple CEO Cook said in response to the question of adding more Vietnamese companies to Apple's industrial chain that Apple was interested in working with Vietnamese manufacturers that met the company's standards.
